Slave-route castles, rainforest canopy walks, waterfalls, Volta river sunsets and Ashanti royal heritage. Pick the experiences you love and James shapes them into your own private tour.
James is a tourism specialist who has worked with travellers from all over the world and knows West Africa inside out. He knows the traveller networks, what different visitors are looking for, and how to show them Ghana's history, nature and everyday life in a way that is honest and safe.
Whether you're coming home to your roots, travelling with family, exploring solo or leading a group, James designs a tour around your pace, interests and budget.
James also cares deeply about the ocean and nature. He is a member of the NGO Plastic Punch and regularly organises beach clean-ups along the Ghanaian coast. Travel with him and you discover Ghana with someone who works to protect it.

These photos were taken by James during recent tours with his guests: the palm avenue at Aburi, the castles and dungeons of the coast, and hilltop views with the whole group.
📸 Photos are included in every tour. James takes pictures of you along the way and sends them to you after your trip.
Ghana sits in the Upper Guinea forest, one of the world's biodiversity hotspots. Some of the animals and plants below live only in this part of West Africa, and several are endangered. James knows where and when to look for them.
Wild animals are never guaranteed: sightings depend on season, time of day and luck. Status = IUCN Red List category. James works with local rangers and community guides, and part of every entrance fee supports the protection of these sites.
In Ghana, food is shared, generous and full of flavour. From street-side kelewele to a bowl of fufu eaten with your hand, James takes you to the chop bars, market stalls and roadside kitchens where Ghanaians really eat.
Vegetarian or vegan? No problem. James finds vegetarian dishes for you all along your route, and explains to the cooks what you don't eat.
Many staples are naturally plant-based (yam, plantain, beans, cassava, groundnuts), but soups, stews and the popular shito pepper sauce often contain meat, fish or dried shrimp. Dishes marked “Veg option” can be cooked without them on request. Just mention your diet in your booking request.
The best souvenirs are made by hand, by the people you meet along the way. James takes you straight to the workshops and markets, so you buy authentic pieces at a fair price and the money goes to the artisans.
English is Ghana's official language, so you will always be understood. But a simple “Medaase” or “Akwaaba” brings big smiles. Twi is the most widely spoken local language; here are the basics to start with. James is happy to teach you more along the way.
Pronunciations are approximate: ɛ sounds like the “e” in “bed”, and ɔ like the “o” in “hot”. In Accra you will also hear Ga, and around Ada, Dangme. Don't be surprised if children greet you with “Obroni!”: it simply means “foreigner” and is usually said with a friendly wave.
Fill in your details and send your request. James replies personally, usually within 24 hours, to confirm your dates and final price. Nothing is charged online.
James will get back to you to confirm. Add the tour to your calendar so you don't forget it.
Standing in the castle at Cape Coast was overwhelming, and James guided us through it with so much care. Then the canopy walk the next day: unforgettable.
Sample review · Family from Atlanta, USAWe asked for a slow, relaxed trip with our parents. Boat on the Volta at Ada, Aburi gardens, great food. Everything was perfectly paced.
Sample review · Group from Lyon, FranceWli Falls and the monkeys of Tafi Atome were the highlight of my West Africa trip. Easy to book on WhatsApp, and super reliable.
Sample review · Solo traveller from BerlinBecause you feel it the moment you land. Ghana is one of the most peaceful and stable countries in West Africa, and Ghanaians are famous for their warmth: you will hear “Akwaaba!” (welcome) everywhere, always with a smile. It is a complete change of scene, from palm-lined beaches and rainforest to castles, markets and music. And with James waiting for you at arrivals, your holiday starts as soon as you pick up your bags: no stress about transport, directions or where to go next. You just relax and enjoy.

Yes. Let us know in your request and James will choose comfortable vehicles, shorter drives and accessible sites. Some activities (canopy walk, waterfall hikes) need a basic level of fitness.
Yes, in most cases, and James takes care of it for you. As soon as your booking is confirmed, he submits the visa-on-arrival request to Ghana Immigration as your host in Ghana. You send him a copy of your passport and your flight details, receive the approval before you fly, and collect your visa at Kotoka airport. Eligibility depends on your passport, so James checks your nationality first and tells you if an embassy visa is needed instead. ECOWAS citizens don't need a visa. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required for everyone.
